Central Academy is a free public charter school serving students in grades K-12. Central Academy has a free GSRP Preschool program and is an International Baccalaureate- Primary Years Programme (IB – PYP) authorized school. Central Academy is conveniently located in Ann Arbor, MI. The Academy goes well beyond the curriculum mandates. We offer strong community partnerships, after school programs, tutoring, athletics, robotics and more!

About Principal Dr. Luay Shalabi
Dr. Luay Shalabi earned his MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Eastern Michigan University and doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Wayne State University focusing on bilingual and bicultural education. He has been in the field of education since 1981 when he started teaching English as a foreign language oversees. He has a wide experience and a great passion in the field of bilingual bicultural education. Dr. Shalabi joined the founders of Central Academy, the first of all GEE schools, even before the school started its operation in 1996.

GLOBAL EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE (GEE) is an educational management company that was founded in 1998 by Mohamad Issa and Dr. Said Issa. GEE was established as a vehicle for developing educational environments where all children are offered quality educational opportunities. Since 1998, the GEE family of schools has grown to include thirteen campuses in the following cities; Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Dearborn Heights, Dearborn, Hamtramck, Detroit, Warren as well as a campus in Toledo, Ohio.
